Cross-Currents JAZZ featuring Zakir Hussain (Tabla), Dave Holland (Bass), Chris Potter (Saxophone), Shankar Mahadevan (Vocals), Louiz Banks (Pino and Keyboards), Sanjay Devicha (Guitar), and Gino Banks (Drums).
A classical tabla virtuoso of the highest order, Zakir Hussain is well known for his constant explorations of music around the world. His latest ensemble, CrossCurrents, brilliantly portrays inspirations between idioms of JAZZ and Indian music. The ensemble pays tribute to pioneering musicians on opposite sides of the globe who built a bridge which could be traversed in both directions.
