Tabla niketan is a Tabla training school in Cupertino (Bay Area, California, USA) established by Shri Madhusudan alias Satish Tare. Tabla niketan has been imparting quality training in playing Tabla to students of various ages since past few years. It has become a favourite of students willing to learn this famous Indian percussion instrument due to the quality of training and the atmosphere of the "Guru-Shishya" tradition that Tabla niketan offers. Adding to Tabla niketan's popularity are workshops by Stalwarts from India, adding an edge to the learning. The school also offers opportunities to participate in local events and competitions to get a first-hand experience of performance.

Tabla niketan has recently got affiliation from the Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalay Mandal, a premier Indian Institute working for the promotion and propagation of Indian classical music. Teaching music through affiliated institutions and conducting certification examinations throughout the world, is one of Mandal's main aims and Tabla niketan is very proud to be associated with them. This association also enables Tabla niketan to arrange for certification examinations in vocal music and Kathak.

Tabla niketan offers a choice of group classes, one to one training as well as training by online classes. Many students have so far benefitted by these traditional as well as innovative methods of training that Tabla niketan offers.

Shri Satish Tare, who is not only an accomplished solo Tabla player but also a well-known accompanist, brings his passion for Tabla to the training and is personally involved in the activities of the school.
